This publication is a unique commemoration of Jews, soldiers and officers of Polish Armies, fighting in many parts of the world during WWII. Benjamin Meirtchak has been in search for years of names of those taking part in regular war in September 1939, officers murdered by Ukrainian NKWD, Jews in Polish resistance movement, those fighting in Lublin district (especially prisoners of war killed on the 14-19 of February 1940 during "the walk of death" from Lublin to Biala Podlaska), Jews imprisoned in officers’ prisoner-of-war camps and prison camp for NCO’s and men in Nazi Germany, those taken to the Nazi concentration camps and to the Soviet concentration camps. In this book you will find the results of work Meirtchak’s done. All the names of Jews fighting against Nazists are cited here on 519 pages. The book consists of 19 chapters on those who were killed in action and missing in France, Norway and North Africa, in the general Anders Army in USSR 1941-42, in Iran 1942, in Italy and Near East, in the West: Netherlands and Germany 1942-1945. "This album attempts to recall the places which are no longer existing and also the function of the currently anonymous existing buildings, which lost their history (...). It presents a small part of the old city which no longer exists. The Old Town rebuilt after the Second World War is no longer existing as the Lodz beautiful synagogues destroyed by the Nazis in 1940. Between 12,000 and 20,000 out of 230,000 Lodz Jews survived the war and there are only about 300 Jews in Lodz".
